The Case Foundation’s Spotlight showcases the many encouraging signs of progress on the continent known as the “cradle of mankind.” One of the main reasons to be hopeful is the people themselves: A Gallup survey this year of 50,000 people around the globe found that Africans are the most optimistic people in the world. In the website’s Spotlight section this month, contributors from the public, private and non-profit sectors describe four reasons why they’re hopeful about Africa.
